We’re thrilled to announce that the Garage Floor Tile Company (that’s us!) are the official partners of Formula Student’s disruptors, Oxford Brookes Racing. 2019’s top UK Formula Student team have something very special up their sleeve for this year and we’re tagging along for the ride.

What’s Formula Student?

Formula Student (FS) is Europe's only major educational engineering competition. The competition helps to develop enterprising young engineers and gives them real-world engineering experience. Working and competing in the FS is viewed by the motorsport industry as the standard for engineering graduates to meet before transitioning into the workplace. Over 100 university teams compete at Silverstone every year, all of them with their eyes on the crown.

What’s Special About Oxford Brookes Racing?

Oxford Brookes Racing are a front running, high performance team who have competed in FS since 1999. With the fastest ever UK car in 2016, and the Top UK Team in both 2018 and 2019, OBR are no strangers to awards and this year they are aiming to reach new heights with their first ever fully electric car.
With a new team structure and a class 2 project to serve as a R&D platform, OBR aims to develop a platform to not only take on the top FS teams in the world, but to also serve as a test bed of innovation for electric vehicles and controls software.
